A little update

Hey everyone! It seems like it's been ages since I've written a good old chatty post, so for this weeks post I thought I'd give you all a little update on how things are these days and what I've been up to. Plus I really wanted to show off this adorable photo of Poppy I took the other week!

She's just adorable!
Poppy: Since you have just seen an absolutely massive picture of Poppy I might as well go on a bit of a ramble about her. As some of you may know we got her 3 months ago but she has already grown sooooo much already and is actually starting to climb the stairs now - no where is safe now! We also found out just how much she loves wearing t-shirts, ok let me explain, one day in the holidays I decided to see if she'd actually like wearing clothes or not so I put one of my old shirts on her and she ended up wearing it for the rest of the day! She also went on her first trip to the beach on New Years day for a family walk and she loved it as well as all the attention she got!

TV & Netflix: At the beginning of January I also started to find more Netflix shows to watch and I kind of wish that I didn't spend hours upon hours binge watching them but they were just too good to wait for. So within a week I completed watching Skins - which I'm missing so much right now! I also completed watching Making A Murderer but that was more of a program where I had to be completely focused to watch instead of putting it on whilst I do my make up. I actually really hope they make more programs like Making A Murderer because it really gets you thinking about if you are put in that situation what you would do.

I was also really enjoying Scream Queens too. I think I liked it because of the fact it was quite similar to Pretty Little Liars (but not as long winded) and other programs like that. Although a few of my friends at school have been disagreeing saying it's quite bad  I think it is just one of those programs that you either really love or can't stand. The main story line is about someone dressed up as a devil running around the college campus murdering everyone...trust me it's better than it sounds! Something else I have really been enjoying watching on TV is Take Me Out I think when these two programs are on is the only time I really watch anything other than YouTube and sometimes Netflix. Take Me Out has pretty much been a program I've loved for ages mainly because it's just so funny half the time and plus I can secretly play along in my head too!

Exercise: Yes you read that right. There's an exercise subheading, no I haven't gone super crazy on starting to get fit (new year, new me rubbish) however I started to go to spinning classes once a week just before Christmas. People who know me know just how much I hate sport, partly because I am rubbish at it and the whole idea of running around a muddy field just doesn't appeal to me as much as it does to others, haha. That is the reason why I started going to spinning classes because it's basically just cycling just a teensy bit harder and once the 45 minute lesson (not that long!) is over it feels so good to step out into the cold air.

And that's about it for now, apart from spending my weekends either chilling or shopping and most of my school nights revising at school I don't do much else! Hope you enjoyed reading :)

Cosy November weekends

Hey everyone, so it's officially November, the pavements are blanketed in leaves fallen off the trees and it's getting dark by 5pm! I thought for today's post it would be a good idea to share some of my favourite hot chocolate recipes as well as including how I relax after a long week.

A few weeks ago, when the weather started to get a little colder I decided to search for a new recipe to make hot chocolate. Even though the old recipe I had was already perfect how it was, it just needed to have something added to it to make the taste even better. This is when I came across the idea of adding cinnamon into my usual hot chocolate. I know not a lot of people like the spice cinnamon however, other than the cinnamon jelly beans and chewing gum, I love it! This hot chocolate definitely has a slight spice to it, leaving a warm taste in your mouth as well as giving off a very Christmassy smell.

The Pumpkin marshmallows are soooo cute and tasty! My Mum bought them for Halloween from Tescos.

♥ Recipe
- Put in three teaspoons of your favourite hot chocolate powder, mine is Cadbury's. You can also add a teaspoon of sugar if you would like to, although this is completely up to you.
- Pour in enough boiling hot water to make a paste, mix well then add a little more water up to about 3/4 of the mug.
- Now add the cinnamon, you could do this at the start however, I prefer to do this now, make sure you stir this in very well.
- Fill the rest of the mug with milk, add marshmallows and ENJOY!

Another recipe for hot chocolate is one that my Dad usually makes for me. I'm not actually sure if he made up this recipe or if he found it online but it is AMAZING. It's basically a mocha however, instead of there being more coffee than hot chocolate there's more hot chocolate with coffee, so you don't have to be mad about coffee to like this.

♥ Recipe

- Put in two teaspoons of your favourite hot chocolate powder and one teaspoon of instant coffee, I use NescafĂ© Original which is just the one I happen to have in my cupboard at the moment.
- Pour in enough boiling hot water to make a paste, mix well then add a little more water, up to about 3/4 of the mug.
- Fill the rest of the mug with milk and ENJOY!

I really enjoy making both of these as they are really simple and easy to make, they are also delicious and definitely perfect for those days when all you want to do is relax from the busy week. However, if I'm being really lazy, sometimes I skip to relaxing without hot chocolate and watch some TV instead. Lately I have been loving watching Scream Queens (I'm actually watching/listening to this right now whilst typing this, because I was way too tired to watch it last night). For those of you who haven't been watching it, basically it's like Pretty Little Liars but also a little like the Scream series on Netflix. I'm only on episode two but I already love it, there's a killer, running around a college campus, dressed as a devil, no one knows who it is which is the main part of the story. Trust me it is waaaay better than it sounds! In Scream Queens actors like Emma Roberts, Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas are also included throughout the programme.

I have also been enjoying a lot of baths recently, I think the next bath bomb I'm going to use is 'Yog-Nog' which is from Lush's Christmas range. It smells exactly like Toffee Apples to me with a slight twist. I also love having sleepy cuddles with Poppy, my family's new puppy, I say sleepy because otherwise she's super hyper and it's impossible for her to settle down! And that's about all I do most weekends apart from the days where I manage to get out of the house and go shopping!

Puppy's first haul

Hey everyone, whilst writing last weeks post I had an idea for a blog post which explained all the things my parents have bought for our new puppy called Poppy. So if anyone is interested in getting a dog, already have one or just want a look at what I brought then I hope you enjoy reading and all the links to where you can buy  anything (other than Poppy, because I'm definitely not sharing haha) is linked at the end of this post, ones marked with a * means I couldn't find the exact one although I found one similar.

I'm going to start of with some of Poppy's toys that she has to play with because she is a puppy she is mostly sleeping so she doesn't really need many toys at the moment but I'm sure her collection is going to grow as she gets older. I often find dog toys to be a little creepy however this one I have especially found a bit weird and creepy, I have absolutely no idea why but I'm never sure wether to laugh or get freaked out by this little chicken toy. It's probably because of its weird un-chicken like figure as well as the eyes that somehow look so evil. The second toy was this really cute teddy with loads of different patches all over him. He is perfect for puppies and saves you from getting your hoover out every 5 seconds because inside is actually rope instead of stuffing which most toys (including the evil chicken) have in them.

We also got her some normal puppy chew for when she teeths as well as your standard tennis ball which pretty much most dogs will like. She also came with her own toy from the breeder to remind her of her home so she is commutable and doesn't feel alienated in her new surroundings.

You might have seen in a few of them last pictures the fluffy mat which has been played down in her bed so she doesn't get too cold at night. She also has a stack of soft, cosy, fluffy blankets which if I was a dog would prove irresistible to me and I'd just want to stay wrapped in them all day, but hey, I'm not a dog so that'll never happen... sadly. Poppy also has a choice of two beds, either a grey plain basket type bed with that soft, silky, furry cover or a plain mat with a nice fluffy cover over it.

Before my sister and I found out about Poppy our parents had gone shopping for her and I think my mum must have got a bit carried away with what she was doing as she picked up SCENTED waste bags yes, scented. But to be honest I can still smell that horrible plastic smell. Although I think my parents did an alright job on the water and food bowls because I really like the patterns on the out side of the bowls.

Where to buy

And thats about it... for now! I hope you have enjoyed reading and if you have any suggestions or comments feel free to post them below and I'll reply as soon as I can. Thanks for reading.

Sunday afternoon chatter

Hey everyone! Today's post is going to be a little different to others, it's going to be more of a chattier post than normal as I don't usually do one and today I'm in the mood to just sit and write. Let's start with something very big that is happening in mine and my family's life right now – we are getting a puppy! I'm so excited, words cannot explain how happy I was when myself and my sister received the text to look in the garage on Thursday night when we found a dog bed, blankets and toys in there! Since I was born we've almost always had a dog in the house until about 18 months ago when our last one died. We all thought that Flash (our last dog) would be our last but I did have my suspicions for the past few weeks we were getting a new dog (mainly because my Mum started liking pages like 'The Kennel Club' on Facebook).

I'm even thinking of doing regular posts about what we have bought for the new puppy, I think that would be quite cute especially if you're thinking of getting a new dog or just a little bit interested in what things she will be using. I should probably tell you her name is Poppy, which even though I haven't seen her yet I have seen pictures of similar dogs like her and the name actually really suits her. Poppy is only eight weeks old so she is super tiny and is probably going to have that really cute run that all puppies have, she is also a Basset Hound which is basically a beagle with really, really short legs and super long ears. We are also going to pick her up tomorrow (12th October) after school, so guess who's going to have a super long wait haha? OK, enough of that, I'm sure you will hear plenty about her since I'm planning on writing lots of new posts including her and my Twitter will be full of pictures!

Sami and Flash

On the 1st of October this year it was also Megaaanii's first birthday, well technically it was on the 1st of September but I decided to plan and plan only to find I can NOT stick to a plan and most of the time I end up thinking of new ideas and jotting them down instead of planning weeks in advance. In that whole year I managed to gain 850+ Bloglovin' followers, 650+ Twitter followers aswell as a few 'likes' on Facebook. Thanks to whoever likes, follows or subscribes to myself and my blog, it means a lot :)

The last thing is something I have been loving recently which is HOT CHOCOLATE! Since Autumn is well underway I have been making much more hot chocolate to warm myself up on the chillier evenings. I've been learning how to make different types of the tasty, warm drink we all love, and the one I make the most is cinnamon flavoured. So next time you make some hot chocolate try putting cinnamon with your hot chocolate, trust me if you like cinnamon and hot chocolate you'll love this!

Thanks to everyone who read this, hope you enjoyed.

June Favourites

Hey everyone! It's been quite a while since my last favourites post and since it's just been the start of July I thought it was about time I told you what I have been loving through out June, all the links to where you can buy any of the products are listed at the end of the post, enjoy reading!

As some of you may know in June I had my work experience and so I needed to buy some smart/casual clothes for it, since I didn't really have any. Whilst shopping for them I rediscovered one of my old favourite shops H&M where I ended up buying most of the tops I wore for my work experience. One of my favourite tops I bought was this cute blue spotty one that looks quite smart when you wear it with a pencil skirt but can also be turned into something quite casual when you wear it with a pair of high waisted back jeans. I also brought this really pretty white jersey top with lace around the shoulders which again looks smart with a skirt but then can look really casual with a pair of jeans.

Can you even put the weather as a favourite? Well I'm going to any way, as I have been loving this weather (well maybe not ALL of it as my Tweets suggested, but most of it) It's definitely been perfect weather for sun bathing although I have not been doing that... YET! Instead I have been taking photos of our garden which looks so beautiful at the moment with all the flowers and cherries!

During June I also purchased a Lush shampoo bar, which if you haven't already you might want to check out last weeks post where I wrote a review on it and why it's slowly starting to replace my shampoo!

* I don't think H&M actually sell this anymore as I did pick it up in one of their sales.
What things did you enjoy in June?

Brainwavz S1 review

Hey everyone, Brainwavz recently sent me some earphones to review and they are AMAZING! Unlike other earphones these ones almost completely block out the outside sounds which is super good if you're walking in a crowded place, reading your favourite magazine or going on a long car journey and want to listen to your own music. These earphones are also good as they don't let out any sound either meaning you won't get any funny looks when you're walking about!

Another thing I really like is that they come with this little case which you can just slip into your bag or pocket and when you're finished listening to music you can easily wrap up the earphones and put them in this little case. One of the things I find really annoying about other earphones is that they end up creating knots and getting in massive tangles however so far this has not even happened once!

Have you ever just put your earphones in and then they just slip out of your ear every two second or they are just super uncomfortable making listening to music really unenjoyable? Luckily these earphones come with multiple little buds which you can swap and change. As well as this to enhance the way you hear the music there are different shaped buds (at least thats what I think they're called) which is really helpful!

It also comes with a plug so if you are on an aeroplane you can plug them in too as well as this you get a pair of memory foam buds which make it even more comfortable than what it already is! Brainwavz defiantly thought about pretty much everything here!

Buy these amazing earphones here!

Spring is here!

Hey everyone! I thought today I would share a few of my photos that I took the other week! Enjoy reading :)

Last week was the Easter Holidays and the weather was AMAZING so me, my Mum and Sister went for a few walks to our local park and I decided to take some photos of some of the things that I saw on my walk!

I love this photo I think it's because of the flowers and how they remind me of nice sunny weather.

I also saw this butterfly as it reminds me of a butterfly that hibernates in my room every winter, well for the past 2 years.

As you can probably tell there were quite a few ducks/ducklings at the place I went to. When I saw them I sat down on the grass for quite a while taking pictures of them they even came right up on the sandy/stoney bit where I was sitting!

And thats all I took! Well actually I took quite a bit more but they were either too blurry or not that good. Thanks for reading/looking sorry its not the wordiest post I just really wanted to share these pictures with you!

5 things blogging has taught me!

Hey everyone! Since it's been almost 6 months since I've started blogging!!! Yay! I honestly didn't think I would have carried on doing it this long! So I have decided to write down a few things that blogging has taught me!

1. To be organised. If you have a blog then you will probably know that you need quite a lot of planning (if not I'm incredibly jealous of you!). For example you need to plan what you're going to write about (Well I do anyway) then you need to write it then take the pictures and amongst all of that you need to do school work and have some time for family and your self! But even though it sounds a lot to do its still really fun and this time last year I probably would have just laughed at you if you told me how much more organised I would be.

2. A secret isn't a secret for long. When I started this blog I literally told no one other than my parents and Sister then I told my friends then gradually my other friends have been finding out either from Twitter or by me just casually talking about it not realising other people are listening! Theres also no point in hiding it from others because if you enjoy doing it then you should be proud of it and tell people!

3. Taking a picture isn't so simple. Before I had a blog I hardly ever used my camera and when I did I just thought it was a simple as clicking a button and it would look perfect. But nope, blogging has taught me that lighting is everything!!! As well as lighting the background is important to, I like to use my massive reel of white paper thats why in pretty much all of my photos there is a white background!

4. Most people on the internet aren't mean! This is one of the things that put me off starting a blog when I first got told to start one. Other than having absolutely no idea what to write the other thing that worried me was that everyone was going to hate my posts and leave me really nasty comments! Well I can safely say not one bad comment has been left on here, fingers crossed that there never will either!

5. When I'm asked to list things my mind just goes blank! I'm sure this has happened to most of us! For example before I had a blog I used to think if I was ever asked to note down 25 facts about me I'd be able to with absolutely no trouble at all! But no it was actually really hard so I resorted in only writing 20! (Click here to see that post).

Hope you enjoyed reading!

A day spent shopping

After spending 5 and a half hours shopping yesterday I think its safe to say both me and Jess are all shopped out! We must have spent at least half of that time in Primark either trying on shoes or putting on ridiculous glasses and accidently taking videos of ourselves instead of pictures!

Buys from Primark

I was superly dooperly happy when I found some lights to put around my mirror. I couldn't believe the price for them, just £3.00 for 20 in a pack and they stretch all around my mirror and guess what! They're stars & glittery!!!

I love these so much and they make my room look sooooo pretty. When I first saw them I put them back thinking that they were going to be so expensive but they were actually £2.50! Now whenever I want something I'm going to go straight to primark, they had so many things I wanted in there I wish I could of just bought everything there!

Buys from Boots

I think me and Jess must have tried absolutely every perfume or body spray in each shop before finally choosing this one!  It smells gorgeous and it doesn't wear off too quick either! I thought it was quite cheap as it was £2.50 for the small bottle which is 50ml or the bigger bottle for £6.00 was 150ml.

Buys from Lush

I had been oogling at this product for what felt like ages on the website. The first time we went into lush I could find every single product but this I was absolutely gutted! Both me and Jess left with glitter all over our hands however when we came back a little later we found it and left the shop with even more glitter than last time on our hands and I had some how it managed to get on my face!

Thanks for reading :)
