Magazine freebies - Mini reviews

Hey everyone! Over the past few months I have been growing a collection of magazines and I thought I would share my opinions on the free samples that come inside the magazine! Hope you enjoy reading!

So, I have finally decided to ditch the 8-13 year olds magazines and delve into the world of grown up magazines where you have pages and pages of fashion, actual make up advise and of course free samples stuck onto some of the pages!

The first sample I got is the No oil oil, from the ELLE (June 2015) magazine. When I first read the title I was a bit confused on how they could label something that isn't an oil a oil but once it came round to using it I realised, It contains no oil however has the consistency of an oil. This is a product created by Percy and Reed and it's basically a volumizing product which you apply to your hair before blow drying whilst making hair glossy and smooth at the same time.

My hair is already EXTREMELY thick so I had to think about how much I was putting on and if I wanted to look like I was carrying a poodle on my head luckily for me there wasn't too much difference however I suppose this isn't so good for someone who wants thicker, volumes hair. Although not doing that it definitely made my hair look glossy, healthy and prevented fly aways!

How to use

Put a few drops into the palm of your hands rub them together to warm the 'oil' then smooth through damp-ish hair then blow-dry or simply leave your hair to dry naturally although out of all the times I used this product I didn't naturally dry my hair once... (bad habit)

Ok, the next product I'm going to talk about is a disappointing one, since Megan + oily skin care products = A very bad mistake! Yep me being me decided to wear this for the first time to school with no make up and the only day I didn't bring make-up with me this happens and I desperately needed some powder! So as you an probably imagine this went horribly wrong and I ended up looking like I had dipped my face in a bowl of oil! ... And the cream didn't exactly smell the best either...

It's the Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm from the Marie Claire (July 2015) magazine. To be honest that day is kind of my fault since the clue is kinda in the name but still I didn't think it would be THAT bad! Although I'm sure if I did wear some make up that day it would have probably improved what I thought about it, but there is no way I would recommend wearing this without make up on! Unfortunately the other week I decided to sort out my make up and chucked the cream out so there isn't a picture of it!

Back to something positive, the next product is Nivea's In shower body wash, I'm not quite sure which magazine this one is from but I loved this product! I'm not the biggest moisturising fan but when I tried this it made me realise how nice it is to have soft smooth skin!

I have seen this advertised so many times on T.V and always wondered if it work and not rub off in the shower or just be another one of those things you use and it fails to impress. Luckily I really really liked it and I can't wait to buy some after my holiday (yep, its true I'm waiting to buy something because believe it or not I'm saving up).

How to use

As normal use your shower gel and rinse that off then get the in shower body wash and rub it into your skin making sure you get all of your body then rinse off and dry your self as usual making sure nothing is left on the towel after use!

Last I’m going to tell you about my favourite product from a magazine yet, it is the Clarins BB skin perfecting cream SPF 27 again I dont know for sure which magazine its from but I’m pretty sure its from the Cosmopolitan. Compared to other creams I have used in the past I found this really good and it managed to stay on my face all day and if you're wondering no, it was not a stay at home day I did go to a park and walk about!!

This BB cream is optimised to brighten and protects skin although it does do a good job of brightening my skin it was quite oily, making my skin shiny, which I really didn't like however theres nothing a bit of powder can’t fix! However later on that day I did go and look up how much it would cost to buy a whole bottle and it was £30 which is way to much for it especially when you could buy the Dream Pure BB cream which doesn’t leave your skin oily and is basically the same! But I really enjoyed this especially as it was free and it did a good job even though I know something thats a lot cheaper and works a tiny bit better!

WHERE TO BUY

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed
